These individually wrapped, sterile syringes come available in 6ml or 11ml volume to help ensure the full length of the urethra is coated in lubricant and an aseptic procedure is achieved. The intuitive syringe design is ideally suited for single-handed operation and the rounded syringe tip has been designed to eliminate the risk of damage to tissue.

Making a choice
OptiLube syringes – OptiLube syringes are suitable for both urethral and suprapubic catheterisation. We recommend using OptiLube syringes for all routine suprapubic catheterisation procedures. OptiLube syringes are water soluble and contains no active ingredients, meaning it’s ideal for patients with allergies, sensitivities or contraindications to Lidocaine or Chlorexidine Gluconate (CHG).
OptiLube Active – OptiLube Active brings the added benefits of local anaesthetic (Lidocaine 2%) to prevent pain and antiseptic (Chlorhexidine Gluconate 0.05%) to reduce the risk of infection.
OptiLube Active CHG Free – OptiLube Active CHG Free contains the benefit of local anaesthetic (Lidocaine 2%) only. So, it’s ideal for patients with contraindications to Chlorhexidine Gluconate.
